Within GLOBAL Division, VSE Corporation is seeking a Field Service Engineer for our facility located in Alexandria, VA to perform the following duties:
Field Service Engineer to support Foreign Military Sales and Follow On Technical Support of MK 75 76MM Gun System. Duties shall include:
* Leading a team of Field Service Engineers in performing complex overhaul and repairs of systems
* Field service support of systems
* Reactivation of systems
* Training of foreign military personnel in operation and maintenance of systems
* Perform functions as necessary to support In-Service Engineering Activity (ISEA) for systems
* Perform functions as necessary to support Standard Pierside Maintenance and Repair (SPMR)
* Onsite support in customer countries to support operational requirements
Candidate should have experience with US Navy gun systems, preferably MK 75 76MM, MK 45 5-inch, and CIWS platforms. The candidate will maintain effective customer communications and relations, and may provide onsite training of customer support personnel. Candidate should be able to read and interpret drawings, blueprints and technical documentations and/or manuals to identify part numbers and technical specifications for materials required to repair and overhaul shipboard equipment.
Education: High School Diploma
U.S. Navy Gunners Mate (GM) or equivalent E-6 or above are preferred
Expert knowledge of the 76mm MK 75 Gun System Electrical and Electronic systems, and seven to nine years of Naval Gun Systems related experience.
Candidate must travel internationally in support of USN Foreign Military Sales support. Physical demands may vary depending on the work location. Ability to stand; walk; stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. Required to sit at times; use hand to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms and climb or balance. Normal demands associated with troubleshooting and repairing Naval Gun Systems installed shipboard while in port. Ability to work in arduous circumstances OCONUS aboard foreign ships and shore based industrial worksites. International travel is required for periods up to 10 weeks duration at OCONUS Naval locations.
