Job Description

This position is responsible for supporting the NA Transportation Finance Team in accomplishing departmental objectives and supporting company initiatives. Responsibilities include month-end close, perform account reconciliations, assist with budgets and forecasts, publish reports and perform ad-hoc analysis Unique Duties & Responsibilities: Perform queries within financial systems, enter journal entries and other data, allocate costs Perform monthly reconciliations that include accruals, reversals, debits/credits, and other journal entries. Work with local and foreign currencies. Maintain database of key performance indicators from various departments within transportation. Show trends, interpret data and recommend actions. Publish monthly reports accurately and timely that include financial data and key performance indicators. Assist in preparation of the annual budget, monthly forecasts and close projections, and variance analysis to explain cause-of-change Provide value-added financial analysis to support operating decisions. Develop cost models to calculate impact of service level agreements and aid in selection of options Communicate within Logistics, across other functions as well as Brand finance teams Utilize knowledge of industry best practices to support critical analysis and decision-making Participate in evaluation and implementation of relevant processes or systems to capture and monitor transportation costs at the appropriate level Requirements: Undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, business or economics 2+ years of experience in a finance, accounting, analysis Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Experience with financial systems; knowledge of accounting controls. Experience developing and maintaining performance-tracking systems. Experience with budget management; developing forecasts and budgets Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Access, Visio, PowerPoint) required Experience in developing models and providing analysis of complex business issues; cost-benefit analysis; variance analysis Experience analyzing financial statements Experience in Logistics (preferred). Strong analytical skills with the ability to probe beyond an issue to find underlying cause & determine solution Strong Attention to Detail and Follow-up Ability to utilize innovation and logic in creating & developing tools/recommendations Ability to work under pressure and with high sense of urgency Ability to make decisions independently and work under general direction Ability to maintain confidentiality Experience in developing and analyzing transportation models Technical competencies to include: transportation contract structure, project planning and development, distribution, and information systems technologies. Business competencies to include, negotiation, strategic and tactical planning Knowledge of third-party service provider network Knowledge of rates and economics of transportation services, costs, operations and negotiations.
