JOB DESCRIPTIONServes as a liaison with financial administrators within operational units on financial, budget, and accounting issues. Prepares and/ or advises others on operational budgets for departments or other operational units. Analyzes budget estimates and proposals for completeness; accuracy; and conformance with established procedures, regulations, and organizational objectives. Consolidates individual budgets into operating and capital budget summaries which argue for or against funding requests. Submits budget summaries to management. Assists managers in analyzing the proposed plan and devising possible alternatives if the projected results are unsatisfactory. Maintains and tracks key business drivers, such as student funding sources, grant submissions and awards, grant directs, IDCs, etc. Prepares and deploys status reports to key users, providing meaningful information on projects, budgets and budget variances, statistics and productivity. Works with all levels of organization (including all levels of management) to answer inquiries and provide information, assist with financial improvement action plans and complete various financial analysis projects. Uses benchmark data for planning and incorporates it into analysis and presentations. Recommends changes to systems and procedures to ensure conformance with budgetary provisions.
