TE SubCom, a world leader in subsea fiber-optic cable systems, is seeking a Finance Intern for Summer 2017 in Eatontown, NJ. The SubCom Finance internship is designed to develop potential finance leaders, while providing a valuable experience working directly with senior management of a multi-national, Fortune 500 company. As part of the SubCom Financial Planning and Analysis (FPA) team, the intern will gain exposure normal FPA activities (strategic planning, budgeting, monthly forecasting, variance analysis, cash flows etc) along with ad hoc tasks and deep-dive analysis as required. The intern will report to the Director FPA, and during the course of the internship, will be expected to provide timely and accurate financial analysis to SubCom finance leaders in support of our executive team.



*Support the monthly financial reporting cadence, through provision of analytical support, in particular, collation and consolidation of internal reporting and variance analyses.

*Conduct specific ad hoc analysis and projects as required, usually around specific financial issues such as capital budgeting analysis, financial modeling, or support to business functions such as Manufacturing and Research & Development.

*Communicate results in a timely and clear manner.

*Assist with book close and accounting procedures as required.

*Knowledge sharing with remainder of finance team and business partners.

*Research and in-depth analyses on the market environment and competitors.


*Must be in process of obtaining MBA / Masters of Finance degree

*Minimum 2 years relevant work experience with Corporate Finance or Accounting experience are preferred

*Proficiency in Hyperion, business intelligence tools, Excel, Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters, or SAP is a plus

*Self-starter with ability to perform independent work and research

*Excellent quantitative and analytical skills

*Track record of demonstrated progressive leadership potential through academic, work, or community activities

*Demonstrated project management capabilities with an emphasis on strategic thinking, teamwork, and results-driven implementation

*Comfort dealing with ambiguity and ability to manage multiple projects

*Strong presentation and communication skills (both oral and written) and comfort working across all levels of the organization
