Superior group is looking for a Financial Accountant 3 for our client in Arlington, TX.

Under the direction of the Director of Finance, the Senior Financial Accountant is responsible for ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the financial statements and the oversight of controls over financial reporting - all to be in accordance with GAAP, FASB Pronouncements, IFRS, SOX, CAS, and Corporate/Group/Sector/Division policies, procedures, etc.
The Senior Financial Accountant's prime responsibility is reporting accurate financial reports on a timely basis to both internal and external customers.
The Senior Financial Accountant also responsible for identifying and researching applicable operational/financial/technical issues and effectively applying knowledge of company operations to period-end financial matters.
Significant interaction with the Leadership Team and other Department heads
Support external and internal audits by ensuring requests/actions are responded to timely and accurately with appropriate Division review
Prepare financial status reports, income statement details and cash flow position and reconciliations
Oversee the period-end activities including reconciliations, closing entries, and appropriate reporting
Improve processes, policies and procedures throughout Senior Accountant’s span of control and influence
Write and update work instructions, processes, memos, SOX Narratives, as needed
Monitor cost absorption and calculate target versus actual variances based on over/under absorbed allocations
Participate in the Company's short term forecast and long term strategic planning
Process owner for certain Sarbanes-Oxley processes and conduct SOX audits
Work with Information Technology on all accounting system issues and upgrades
Prepare year-end financial and tax schedules for submission to corporate office
Perform or oversee fixed assets accounting and payroll accounting
Safeguard assets
Experience owning the SOX processes and conducting audits
Strong analytical, financial, and accounting skills
Competence to balance multiple concurrent priorities, both financial and non-financial
Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of management
Effective and persuasive presentation skills on controversial or complex topics to top management
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Experience with Cost Point

Required Skills / Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
Minimum 7 years’ experience as financial accountant.
Minimum 3 years of public accounting/auditing experience.

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:

Experience with DCAA, external financial auditors and knowledge of CAS/FAR.
