Position Summary: The Financial Analyst / Cost Engineer plays a pivotal role in the implementation of Princeton University's capital and major maintenance programs by acting as the financial liaison between the Facilities Department Office of Design and Construction (ODC) project managers and university architect, engineer, procurement, finance and business staff. This position reports directly to the Manager of Finance, Office of Design and Construction.

The Financial Analyst / Cost Engineer will provide financial project controls and coordination for capital and major maintenance projects from project conceptualization to project close-out and will assist project managers develop and manage budgets, monitor expenses and contingency, generate periodic status and variance reports, and forecast cash flow and final project cost. This position will assist in the preparation of project funding requests and create and maintain executive level project summary reports. This person will ensure that project financial/budget practices are consistent with and in compliance with established contract terms, general practices and University policy and procedures.

This is a three year term position with full benefits.

Requirements:
-Bachelor's Degree
-Five to seven years progressive experience in the design and construction environment with knowledge of and experience in establishing design and construction project budgets; in managing and reporting on budgetary performance of projects.
-Strong MS Office and Excel data entry and spreadsheet creation skills are needed along with an ability to download and format enterprise general ledger accounting system data for project management report generation; ability to self-prioritize workload and to plan and communicate anticipated effort to complete work within desired timeframe, candidate will exhibit flexibility and have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
-A Bachelor's Degree in engineering, accounting, business administration, finance or economics is preferred.
-Finalist will be required to successfully complete a background check.
