Reporting to the Budget Manager, the Financial Analyst will be an integral part of the NSMC finance team to ensure that the development and implementation of financial plans are consistent with corporate, hospital-wide and departmental goals and objectives. This position must be able to interact effectively with operational, administrative and other finance staff and management, including senior leaders. The ability to provide meaningful and timely information designed for various customers and audiences is essential.
Job Specific Responsibilities:
Assist in processing and resolving issues associated with data from various systems (such as budget, general ledger, payroll, billing, charge master, medical records, and contract management).
Assist managers in preparing the annual operating budget.
Create and run reports including monthly variance, statistical and other reports.
Participate in variance analysis and monthly close process.
Assist in preparation of ad hoc reports, requests for information and other projects as assigned.
Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with demonstrated presentation skills.
Must be able to extract data from various sources and systems.
Must act fiscally responsible within the resources available.
Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
Minimum of 2 plus years of experience in accounting, finance, business or related field required.
Health Care experience a plus
Strong PC skills, including Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint. Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills, able to deal with all levels of management and staff. Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple complex tasks and priorities. Ability to meet deadlines and function in a fast-paced environment. Must be a team player with the willingness and desire to learn and grow within the organization.
