Visit our website to learn more about Sayres and current opportunities (","The Financial Analyst will support the DDG 51 Shipbuilding program and be responsible for the following:

Applying expert knowledge of Navy accounting, finance, budgeting, execution and reporting, and data information systems to provide financial management support in one or more of the following areas:

Budget Execution
Budget Development and Defense
Contract Management
Accounting Reconciliation
Acquisition Reporting
Statutory and Regulatory

Performing analytical support in one or more of the following areas:

Preparing funding execution documents and tracking through acceptance.
Monitoring accurate recordings in Navy systems.
Maintaining financial status and history records.
Developing and defending budget resource requirements.
Participating, developing, tracking, and reporting the Government/Contractor Furnished Equipment financial data.
Assisting in business and financial services for the Legacy and ERP systems planning, executing, and reporting efforts of SCN, RDT&E, OMN, OPN, and FMS appropriations.
Executing updates and tracking weekly funding documents, financial status funds reports, and providing financial inputs to Monthly reports.
Assisting in the reconciliation of financial transactions in STARS, ERP,and Paying Office records and recommending corrective actions.
Preparing supporting data to justify required corrections.
Identifying and reporting upon closing appropriations and assisting in mitigating unliquidated balances for these accounts.
Analyzing Contractor and Government records to identify and assess impact of contract cost growth.
Maintaining detailed records and tracking the contract and contract financial metrics.
Monitoring program cost, schedule, and technical performance.
Identifying variances and/or breaches of acquisition thresholds.
Accumulating financial inputs to support major systems acquisition reporting, (e.g. DAES, SAR, PDR, and APB Change Reports).
Assisting in ERP WBS/Project Structure (WBS) budget structures and maintenance, cost planning, executing and reporting, and ERP database maintenance.
Conducting research and providing subject matter expertise as requested to identify accounting system errors.
Applying knowledge and experience for evolving ERP implementation.

Education, Work Experience, Skills and Clearance Requirements:

Bachelor's degree OR High School diploma or equivalent AND equivalent experience in lieu of degree.

Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience.

Active Secret security clearance verifiable in JPAS or the ability to obtain one.
