The primary purpose of the Financial Services Supervisor position is to supervise, lead and coordinate employee's daily activities in professional billing, insurance follow-up, refunds and special projects. This position is responsible for tracking, trending and reporting denials and other billing follow-up queues. Develop and maintain up to date policies and procedures. Participate in quality management departmental activities within Willamette Valley Professional Services. Provide positive interactions so that the patient's service experience consistently exceeds expectations.

Special Skills, Knowledge and Ability:
Working knowledge of insurance terms, reimbursement methodologies, medical terminology, coding, billing and collection processes and generally accepted accounting principles.
Knowledge of ICD-9-CM, CPT-4, and HCPC coding guidelines.
Ability to problem solve independently.
Ability to mentor and train billing staff.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preference may be given for Epic Resolute PB experience/training.
Required Qualifications:
Associates degree preferred.
Minimum of five (5) years in related healthcare, financial experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Minimum of one (1) year professional experience in a lea, training, or supervisory role within a related field required.
Minimum of two (2) years relevant healthcare training and medical service compliance and/or coding experience.
Preference may be given for professional billing/coding experience.
Upon date of hire, applicants will be required to complete the U.S. Department Homeland Security's I-9 form confirming authorization to work in the United States. Salem Hospital is not able to support VISA sponsorships.
