Come join Cisco's Business Transformation team as we grow our Architecture practice to address the crushing demand for guidance from the most influential Financial Services customers in North America.As a Vertical Solution Architect you will work with customers, partners, Cisco's engineering, emerging technologies, and advisory groups to build leading edge architectures and solutions. The Vertical Solution Architect (VSA) for Financial Services requires understanding of Financial Services business processes and imperatives to develop Cisco 'powered' solutions and technical architectures. VSAs will demonstrate Financial Services industry business acumen and specific technical knowledge of Financial Services industry priorities, trends, architecture frameworks, and solution development. The VSA will provide thought leadership to field account teams and stakeholders. The VSA will partner with Financial Services ISVs, OEMs, and system integrators, to develop solutions and provide architecture leadership in customer sales engagements.VSAs engage with some customers in a consultative selling process in which they build relationships and become trusted advisors to the customer. In other cases VSAs may engage with customers in a light touch consultative manner where they present Cisco's solutions and thought leadership to customers virtually via WebEx or TelePresence.Essential job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Lead vertically relevant, customer IT-driven engagements throughout the technical sales process Orchestrate delivery of technical deliverables in assigned Financial Services accounts throughout a consultative sales cycle Orchestrate SI/OEM/ISV partner/services technical activities in solution development Mentor field technical roles on vertical solutions, platforms, and customer considerations Develop and reuse vertical sales engagement artifacts and approaches Manage the development of an industry solution through a cycle of development and maintenance Present technical, solution, and business architectural messages to clients Collect competitive intelligence through customer engagements and industry events Regularly provide innovative solution ideas for consideration from customer engagements Demonstrate industry leadership through participation/influence in industry organizations or standards bodies Support Cisco field enablement through technical communities of interest, internal publishing, and knowledge transferQUALIFICATIONS 10 years of demonstrated experience working as a solution, infrastructure, or enterprise architect at an FSI customer or in vertically focused vendor/partner role(s) Minimum of 8 years technology experience in one or more of the following domains:
Telecommunications, Technology Infrastructure, Middleware, Operating Systems, Computing, Systems Programming, or Video Domain experience in the Retail Banking Industry is required Branch Architectures Operational and Servicing Procedures In addition to Banking experience, the ideal candidate will demonstrate experience in one or more of the following FSI domains:
Financial Markets Trading architectures and standards Institutional Financial Collaboration architecture and standards including compliance requirements Insurance Banking Branch architectures Key operational procedures Ability to create and communicate a compelling vision to senior executives with an ability to leverage logic, experience, facts, and passion to influence others Expertise in consultative selling approaches and establishing credibility as trusted advisor BA/BS in a technical field is required; an advanced degree is preferred MBA or equivalent business experienced is requiredPERSONAL ATTRIBUTES Demonstrate creativity and team focus in a dynamic, fast paced, and changing environment Strong communication and listening skills, a thorough approach to complex problem solving, and a high motivation towards setting and delivering time sensitive results Ability to listen, establish relationships, gain consensus, establish credibility, and gain confidence of multiple stakeholders across Cisco, partners, and the Business Transformation team Ability to work effectively within virtual teams across multiple physical locations using real-time and offline collaboration tools Demonstrate ability to build alliances, grow team morale, and seek cross-functional support to achieve success Understanding and framing of client business and technical imperatives, and inspiring confidence with a variety of internal and external constituents Strong leadership skills with the ability to set goals, define tasks, and accomplish work Excellent verbal and written communication skills
