I. Job Summary The primary caretaker of the guests, equipment, and staff of the Exercise & Movement Area. Maintaining cleanliness of fitness area including machines and light equipment is required. Heavy lifting of some equipment is likely. Ability to answer basic questions in exercise execution and assistance with weight room guidance is required. Self-motivation and good management skills required to assist all users of the area is required. Attention to details and adhering to Carillon Miami Beach standards in grooming and service is a must. A strong background in customer service and knowledge of fitness exercises and practices is required, however, a nationally recognized certification in fitness is not. II. Essential Job Functions Adheres to Carillon Miami Beach standards for guest service. Attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness of all equipment in the fitness area, including cardiovascular, strength, and group exercise equipment. Assists in classes that require additional assistance in set up and monitoring. Able to assist guests with proper body alignment, set up, and safety of cardiovascular and weight equipment. Fulfills other fitness responsibilities such as supervision of the Exercise & Movement Area including the Cardiovascular & Strength Training Studio, Movement Studios, Rockwall, and the Bamboo Pool. Attends and participates in staff meetings. Provides assistance on the weight room floor, including spotting, adjusting, and educating when requested by guests. Refers guests to other in-house professionals as necessary, including Personal Trainers, Private Instructors, Spa Therapists, Exercise Physiologists, and Health & Healing Professionals. Refers guest problems or complaints to manager or supervisor according to Carillon Miami Beach guest problem resolution policy. Reports and documents any observed or known safety hazards, conditions or unsafe practices and procedures to management immediately. Must be flexible with the ability to work throughout the day, weekends, and holidays.
