Ameritas Investment Partners is seeking a Fixed Income Research Analyst to perform credit analysis on investment grade corporate bonds plus develop and maintain research files on each company. The position is also responsible for investing excess cash balances in short-term investments in accordance with established policies.

This role provides an opportunity for individuals seeking a career in institutional investment management. Ameritas will provide support to the top candidate though the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Excel, knowledgeable of current events, good at managing their time, and able to provide solutions on their own as well as in a group environment.

Responsibilities Include:
Analyze existing and potential investment grade corporate securities.
Maintain research files on companies within coverage universe, reviewing earnings releases, SEC filings, and company presentations. Coverage will entail several sectors and will include: domestic investment grade, selected high yield or crossover issuers, and international corporate issuers.
Maintain effective dialogue with portfolio managers and other analysts.
Assist in performing special investment or reporting projects as needed.
Understand the cash needs and trends of the affiliated companies.
Invest all excess cash in the insurance company portfolios and correspond with the various portfolio managers as to cash availability. Purchases and sales of money market securities are a key component of the position.
Review, follow and update the policies and procedures of cash management.
Develop an understanding of client investment guidelines and state statutes.
Other duties as assigned.

Marginal Functions:
Assist in client reporting as needed.
Begin to develop a dialogue with rating agencies and sell-side analysts.
Perform other responsibilities as requested.

Qualifications
Required Knowledge and Skills:

* BS/BA in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.

* Successful completion of, or progress toward, the CFA program is desired.

* Investment experience preferred, but not required

* Highly motivated individual

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* Proficient in Excel
