Food Service Worker

Job Summary
The Food Service Worker assists with ensuring that all health standards and regulations related to food service are met, and helps to ensure that the kitchen is clean and sanitary at all times. He or she assists the other kitchen staff members with delivering food to the classrooms and setting up before and cleaning up after meal preparation. The Food Service Worker is responsible for ensuring that all dishes are washed thoroughly and in a timely manner.

Essential Functions
Ensure that all dishes are washed thoroughly and in a timely manner.
Maintain the kitchen in a sanitary manner, particularly the dishwashing area.
Assist with setting up before and cleaning up after meal preparation.
Assist with delivering food to the classrooms.
Clean food service carts at least once daily, and more often as needed.
Assist with mopping, sweeping, and other kitchen cleaning duties.
Receive and stock deliveries to the kitchen.
Help ensure that all health standards and regulations related to food service are met.
Help ensure that adequate substitutions are available for children with special dietary needs.
If ServeSafe certified, assist with meal preparation as needed.
Provide coverage in any classroom as needed to maintain ratios.
