* If not already certified, will be required to complete the Certified Juvenile Court Clinician (CJCC) training program, to work toward eventual certification as a CJCC I

* Conducts diagnostic evaluations for the Juvenile Court in the matter of Care & Protection, Child Requiring Assistance (CRA, formerly known as CHINS), and Delinquency cases

* Conducts interviews of juveniles and adults at on-site and at off-site locations including their homes, inpatient psychiatric units, DCF offices, residential programs, and DYS settings as needed for the purpose of evaluation

* Secures collateral information for evaluations including medical, psychiatric, court, police, DCF, and school records, and speaks with all relevant collateral contacts for evaluations

* Prepares written reports in a timely manner with forensically-appropriate recommendations for the court

* Provides on-call coverage (8:30 am to 4:30 pm only) to the courts for consultation, crisis intervention, and emergency mental health evaluations to assess the need for civil commitment due to substance abuse and/or symptoms of mental illness that pose a threat of harm to self/others

* Provides case consultation to Judges, probation officers, attorneys, Court-Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs), Guardian Ad Litems (GALs), school staff, and caseworkers for state agencies (DMH, DYS, DCF, DDS)

* Attends systems meetings (with DCF, DMH, school programs, etc.) as needed for the purpose of evaluations and consultations

* Provides testimony on evaluations and serves as an expert witness when requested by the Court

* Provides clinical supervision for masters level social work student interns after licensure

* Participates in orientation and training opportunities as determined by clinical supervisors


* Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW) Licensed or license-eligible as LICSW or LCSW


* One to three years supervised experience at the masters level in diagnostic assessments and treatment of children, adolescents and their families.

* Experience with and knowledge of child development, adult development, family dynamics, and systems

* Experience working with underserved communities and economically disadvantaged populations

* Ability to be highly organized and detail- and deadline-oriented

* Strong writing skills and comfort with writing lengthy evaluations that conform to clinical and legal standards


* Experience with child-related forensic systems (DCF, DYS, DMH, CBHI)

* Bilingual and/or multicultural
