Forklift Operator-2nd Shift

SalonCentric, the professional products distribution operation of LOr al USA, is looking for an expert forklift operator to work our 2nd shift from 4 PM to12:30 AM Monday through Friday. This full time position is located in our distribution center at 11720 Peel Circle, LaVista, NE 68128.

Position Summary

As a Fork Lift Operator, you will perform daily duties using a handheld RF scan gun to verify inventory counts, load and unload trailers and transfer product throughout the warehouse up to the 6th level on racks. Previous experience using tarret trucks, order pickers, scissor lifts and RF scan guns is desired. An excellent work ethic, keen eye for detail and a positive attitude are a must!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

*Properly stretch wrap all pallets goods to be shipped using a stretch wrap machine. Load all finished goods into trailers utilizing the RF scan gun to make the transfer in the inventory management system.
*Transfers materials between storage racks, pallets, and trucks using an RF scan gun.
*Clean and sweep warehouse and dock areas daily.
*Perform daily forklift inspections to verify mechanical problems and complete safety inspections on a daily basis before operating the lift.
*Organize and secure stored materials (pallets, boxes, etc).
*Perform loading and unloading procedures steadily and cautiously.
*Report any damaged pallets, defective equipment, or safety hazards to management and fill out necessary paperwork.
*Adhere to and appreciate all safety procedures and routines on and off lift machinery.
*Consult with fellow warehouse employees on necessary loading and unloading procedures.
*Performs other tasks and duties as needed upon request by manager.

Knowledge and Skills

*Requires the ability to support a team to accomplish critical and timely objectives
*Ability to handle numbers and basic math
*Excellent work ethic a must
*Excellent listening and communication skills
*Ability to work effectively without direct supervision
*Ability to stand for long periods of time
*Must be able to keep up with a faced paced environment
*Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
*High school diploma or GED required.
*Two years experience using an RF scan gun desired.
*Three years of forklift experience operating order pickers desired.
*Experience operating tarret trucks desired
*Work references to verify work history.
