JOB DESCRIPTIONAPPLY Summary: This position is directly responsible for identifying, establishing, maintaining and expanding relationships with private and public foundations across the United States.
This position is directly responsible for identifying, establishing, maintaining and expanding relationships with private and public foundations across the United States, and leveraging those relationships to secure funding for the patient-support programs operated by the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP)/Be The Match. This position also acts as the lead developer and manager of program content and data that will be used in grant applications, reports, stewardship communications and other forms of public outreach. Specific tasks include but are not limited to identifying prospective funders and fundable programs and initiatives, writing program descriptions, designing quantitative metrics (e.g., goals, objectives, and intended outcomes), preparing and submitting grant applications, following up with progress reports, and stewarding relationships to cultivate increased and long-term support. The individual in this position frequently interacts with both external and internal constituents.
Bachelor's degree in marketing, healthcare, communications, or related field.
Five years of successful development experience in identifying, cultivating, and soliciting foundation prospects and three years of grant writing experience.
Proven ability to raise funds from foundation; demonstrated ability to write successful proposals and reports and to work independently; working knowledge of Raisers' Edge or
comparable development software. Knowledge and familiarity with research techniques for fundraising prospect research.
Excellent oral and written communication; proficient in word processing software skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to organize multiple
tasks and projects and meet deadlines.
Availability for travel (2-3 day trips); valid driver's license.
