DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for developing and leading hourly work groups in the Service Center, to exceed/meet goals for EBITDA, Accidents and Injuries, Top Line Revenue growth, and productivity standards. Collaborates with Operations, Sales, and Human Resources to ensure expectations set forth by Service Center leadership are met.

JOB SPECIFICS:

Drive operation strategy execution and tactics which deliver Service Center EBITDA goals

Responsibility for achieving Service Center P&L goals and taking ownership of service center P&L thru span of control

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: developing talent and coaching to key performance indicators (KPI's), employee engagement, hiring, firing, and driving performance improvement where needed

Collaboration with the Service Center sales team to support external customer requirements for freight handling and on time service

Responsible in their span of control of achieving the Service Center cost budget. Communicates and executes to cost driven KPI's, drives behavior of hourly employees to meet goals and expectations, develops and communicates countermeasures when KPI's are not at goal.

Proactively addressing and directing solutions, if necessary, associated with all service exceptions

Minimize labor activity by ensuring employee engagement activities, work environment, employee relations, and HR policies are applied consistently across the workforce

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

Bachelor's Degree in business or related field required (logistics, supply chain management, manufacturing, finance, etc) or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Experience working in a supply chain, procurement, maintenance, or transportations Service Company with LTL experiencepreferred

Previous supervisory experience in a team focused environment a plus

Ability to effectively motivate, manage and direct work groups

Ability to perform, and or learn moderately complex analysis in spreadsheet and database programs, such as MS Excel and MS Access, as well as other Microsoft Office applications
