The Friends of Semel Institute (FoSI) Administrator will support the Director of Outreach and Development (DOD) in all office operations and donor database entry. The FoSI Administrator will participate in all program and fundraising activities and will work with an active and high profile Board of Directors and UCLA staff to extend The Friends visibility and impact.

The FoSI Administrator will be responsible for day-to-day operations, including FoSI event coordination, financial database maintenance, bookkeeping, and sending status reports to the FoSI Board of Directors.



Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize workload effectively to meet the demands of a detailed oriented, fast-paced work environment; required.

Strong time management, organizational and follow-up skills to prioritize and complete tasks and projects within set timelines. Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines and adapt to changing priorities. Strong independent decision-making skills to effectively respond to unexpected events and crises; required.

Demonstrated proficiency using computer software applications including MS Excel, MS Word, Endnote, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, and other software packages to streamline work for effectiveness and efficiency; required.

High level of reliability and dependability, demonstrated ability to exercise political acumen and maintain strict confidentiality; required.

Excellent interpersonal as well as oral, and written communication skills to interact with a variety of personalities at all levels of the organization and high level contacts from all over the world. Ability to convey information clearly and concisely; required.

Demonstrated administrative experience, including detailed knowledge of UCLA and UC policies with respect to BruinBuy, Express, and travel payments and reimbursements; required.

Ability to work flexible hours if necessary
