BASIC FUNCTION: Check-in, check-out guests, knowledge of hotel services and amenities, maintains logs, makes guest keys. Maintains cash drawer and safety deposit box. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Possesses knowledge of all hotel services 2. Greets guests courteously and registers guests into the hotel 3. Possesses knowledge of reservation and billing systems 4. Maintains and controls room inventory and availability 5. Possesses knowledge of the hotel's credit policies 6. Possesses knowledge of hotel products, rates, and special programs 7. Distributes guests' mail and packages 8. Possesses knowledge of, and uses, emergency procedures 9. Maintains safety deposit boxes 10. Conducts inventory of and re-stocks supplies 11. Completes "bucket checks" each shift 12. Completes checkout procedures for guests 13. Balances all departments accounts, and completes all required back-up documents 14. Maintains security of guest keys and cash drawer; counts and verifies the cash at the end of each shift 15. Monitors guest accounts and notifies supervisor of any extreme changes to any guest account, or suspicious actions by guests 16. Runs a detailed shift audit by employee, and balances daily work to computers 17. Maintains neatness of front desk work area 18. Performs other related duties as assigned by the Front Office Manager. 19. Cross trains in other areas of Rooms Division.
