span A prestigious Private Equity firm headquartered in Manhattan is seeking a Fund Accountant to join their growing accounting and finance team. The Fund Accountant will work closely with Controllers, Portfolio Managers, and Clients to complete valuations for various funds, position reconciliations, assist in the preparation of financial statements, variance analysis, and will help coordinate the external auditor and other special projects. The firm boasts a posh office space in Midtown Manhattan and the ability to participate in an occupational rotation program within the company. Salary is B $60,000 - $75,000 + Bonus /B , commensurate with experience. br   br B Responsibilities: /B br ul
li Prepare position reconciliations and daily NAV for various private equity funds /li li Partner with custodians, prime brokers, and Portfolio Manager to complete daily accounting and valuation duties /li li Maintain ownership of numerous operational accounts and/or financial statement line items, including all related accounting, spreadsheets, and reconciliations /li li Work with the finance team on various technical tasks associated with 10-K and 10-Q filings /li li Complete security valuation and pricing of funds using the external data vendors (Bloomburg, Reuters, etc.) /li li Aggregate information, supporting schedules, and work-papers to support audits and tax preparation /li li Perform investor allocations to generate investor capital /li li Assist in researching accounting issues; write, revise, document, monitor, and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and accounting positions /li li Ad hoc reporting, analysis,  and projects /li /ul
  br B Qualifications: /B br ul
li Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, or Economics /li li 1-5 years professional experience working as an Auditor, Accountant, Financial Analyst, or Research Analyst /li li Strong understanding of GAAP and familiarity of applicable SEC compliance standards applicable to private equity products /li li CPA/CFA or strong desire to pursue either designation after placement is a must /li li Intermediate Microsoft Excel (e.g. importing, vlookups, pivot tables, etc.) /li li Strong communication, presentation and organizational skills /li /ul
