JOB DESCRIPTIONAPPLY Job Description
Primary: Weigh, batch, and dump alloys and fluxes.
Repair furnace refractory, as directed.
Maintain sufficient inventory levels on the floor.
Secondary: Maintain housekeeping and 5S.
Assist in adding electrodes.
Acquire and maintain valid Lift Truck Operator's permit.
Acquire and maintain a valid Bob Cat Operator's permit.
TRAINING AND/OR BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be able to pass written test.
Basic math including multiplication, division and decimals.
Basic computer skills.
­­­­QUALITY RELATED RESPONSIBILITIES:
Batch alloys to fit customer specifications.
Sample heats for verification of grade specifications.
Make material additions of alloys, additives, and fluxes as directed.
SAFETY RELATED RESPONSIBILITIES:
Awareness of melt floor activities.
Observe and follow all departmental safety rules and regulations.
COST/PRODUCTION RELATED RESPONSIBILITIES:
Minimize damage to packaging.
Material batching to avoid furnace delay (lime, coke, alloys).
Optimize usage of consumables.
ENVIRONMENTAL RELATED RESPONSIBILITIES:
Employee is expected to know, understand, and follow all applicable Federal, State, and Local environmental legal requirements and practices.
Responsible for and completing all required annual safety and environmental training (inc. fugitive dust).
Responsible for spill prevention, containment, response and clean up or assist in clean up of material spills.
