SERVICE AREA OVERVIEW
Northside Hospital s GI Services performs a full range of GI endoscopy diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, seeing more than 10,500 patients annually across Northside Hospital s four GI Endoscopy Units in Atlanta, Cherokee, Forsyth and Alpharetta. In 2011, Northside received a Certificate of Recognition award for promoting quality in GI endoscopy from the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), a leading gastrointestinal (GI) medical society. The hospital also has made significant technology advances to its GI program, including the addition of endoscopic ultrasound and Spyglass technology to increase direct visualization of digestive tract, pancreas and other anatomy.
Provides assistance to the physician & direct care to the adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient. Also, performs delegated unit tasks as assigned by the Registered Nurse.
A minimum of one year of acute healthcare exp. is required. Preferred: Completion of accredited medical assistant course * CNA/PCT Certification * GTS Certification * Certified Surgical Tech Minimum one year GI endoscopy experience SGNA membership Or: IAHCSNM Certification (International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management)
