JOB DESCRIPTIONPOSITION:- GIPS COMPLIANCE ANALYST
LOCATION:- NEWPORT BEACH, CA
Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
* Assist with constructing new composites;
* Monitor and validate composite membership changes;
* Maintain appropriate documentation to support proper composite composition;
* Serve as a liaison with third-party verifiers;
* Ensure adherence to documented policies and procedures; and
* Prepare and review compliant disclosure presentations.
Position requires frequent interaction with Product Management related to composite design objectives and expectations; with Business Development related to composite selection, adaptation and presentation for specialized RFP's and RFI's; and with Technology related to data management and systems planning and testing.
The role will also entail working on strategic initiatives and special projects across different departments and legal and compliance teams related to efficiency, risk mitigation, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
The qualified candidate will have an undergraduatedegree (advanced degree a plus), with a major in Finance/Accounting or related field, and working knowledge of the GIPS standards.
The candidate will have experience with composite construction and maintenance as well as the GIPS verification process, either working internally for an investment advisory firm or externally with a verification firm. Ideal candidates will be familiar with fixed income instruments and strategies.
Strong research, analytical and computer skills are required. Candidates should be able to utilize tools such as spreadsheets, macros, query tools and external databases and must be able to effectively interpret and communicate the results. Strong attention to detail and commitment to excellence is essential. Experience with composite management software, Excel Macros/Visual Basic and Business Objects a plus.
Candidate must have excellent communication skills (oral and written) and be able to present to senior management as well as sophisticated clients.
An ideal candidate will have earned or looking to obtain the Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement (CIPM)
Knowledge and experience with Investment Advisers Act and Investment Company Act is preferred.
