JOB DESCRIPTIONPosition: GIS Developer
Location: San Diego, CA 92123
The Enterprise GIS applications team has immediate opening for a Software Developer with focus on use of GIS programming standards for design, testing, implementation and support for the GIS server and desktop applications. The position will perform hands-on ArcGIS software development using C#, Microsoft .Net (Visual Studio 10 or above), ESRI ArcObjects, ArcPython and other programming tools. The developer will also perform GIS database modeling and optimization using the ArcSDE Oracle application. Under the leadership and tactical supervision of a Software Project Lead, Software Developers work with Senior Developers to collaborate with internal customers, Business Analysts, IT colleagues, and other stakeholders to identify user requirements, assess application impacts, and recommend solution options. Individuals in this job position should be familiar with Software Development Life Cycle and project management techniques. Development of project requirements and design, recommend optimal approaches and enhance the existing applications.
The ideal candidate is a software developer who has previously worked with utility GIS applications using ArcObjects and has the following:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related discipline or equivalent.
A minimum of 2 years recent proficiency with development of ArcObjects, C#, .Net platforms.
A minimum of 4 years recent experience with ESRI ArcGIS is required.
A minimum of 2 years recent proficiency with Oracle 11g and MS SQL.
Working experience with the Schneider Electric ArcFM products highly desired.
Technical software development knowledge, with hands-on experience in program development in one or more technology environments.
Skills in verbal and written communications, with the ability to express highly complex technical concepts in business terms is highly desirable along with analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills.
Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work well on cross-functional project teams.
Experience with Electric utility GIS deployments in a production/service environment.
Knowledge and experience in systems development lifecycle and methodologies.
