The Greeter is responsible for our "customer's" initial experience. The Greeter is the first person, whom the visitor or newly arrived patient sees upon entering the hospital, it is necessary that s/he be cordial, patient and understanding with all those who arrive at The North Shore Medical Center. The Greeter must, at all times, remember that s/he is a representative of NSMC and in the interest of good public relations and positive customer service should display a courteous and pleasing demeanor at all times. This position requires extraordinary customer service skills and a commitment to teamwork. IMPORTANCE OF THE POSITION: The Greeter will be positioned in a central location for providing information to all visitors and patients coming to The North Shore Medical Center. It is crucial to provide assistance to all those who seek help. The Greeter is key to being able to assist with information and to alleviate any anxiety or frustration that people may experience as they enter the hospital. Because the Greeter is the "customer's" initial contact with NSMC s/he must, at all times, convey an optimistic, devoted and constructive image of the hospital.
Required:Effective communication and interpersonal skills, out-going and friendly. Accuracy and clear understanding of confidentiality. Ability to walk to perform directional and assistance duties. Basic Math and some selling skills (for some areas). Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and quickly. Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality, professionalism and a smile at all times. Excellent communication skills required. Multilingual preferred. Ability to walk to perform directional and assistance duties. Remains calm and patient under pressure and in a busy environment. High energy level, dynamic personality, willing to take initiative Loyal, discrete, knowledgeable and confidential. Well organized and strong follow through. Charming, warm and affectionate. Presentable and well mannered. Genuine care for the growth and improvement of NSMC.
