Sodexo Universities is seeking a General Manager 3 for Doane University, a small private university located in Crete, NE. Crete is located 20 minutes southwest of Lincoln the state capital. It offers shopping, nightlife, college and minor league sports, concerts, parks, trails, golf courses, museums, and a friendly Midwestern atmosphere. At Doane, our GM is seen as a trusted partner and adviser who is highly engaged with the students and visible on campus. As GM, you will be responsible for managing front-of-the-house operations regarding marketing and customer service as well as the food production, purchasing and receiving food and supplies. Our food operations at Doane include resident dining, retail dining and catering. Reporting to the District Manager, the ideal General Manager candidate will have: * Food service or culinary management experience, preferably within campus dining. * Strong customer focus, attention to detail and an outgoing personality/desire to be highly visible and interactive. * A desire to lead, train and develop frontline employees as well as a salaried Executive Chef. * Proven experience controlling food/labor costs and manage financials. * Excellent communications and client relations skills. Position Summary Directs all contract management service operations at a single account/unit. Plans and supervises special functions. Maintains cash control and payroll records. Hires and trains unit personnel. Maintains customer satisfaction and good public relations. Manages through managers and is accountable for the contract. Senior-most person assigned to a one client account.
