Sodexo is seeking a dynamic General Manager 3 to oversee the food service operations at Spartanburg Methodist College in Spartanburg, SC! Spartanburg Methodist College is a two-year private residential institution - dining services consists of Resident Dining Operation, 2 retail concepts (Sub Connection & Starbucks), Catering Services and Summer Camp & Conferences. At SMC, lives are transformed in a values-oriented, student-centered atmosphere in the Christian tradition that encourages academic excellence, intellectual exploration, social awareness, and character development within the liberal arts tradition. SMC has a student population of around 800 students. All of the students are freshmen and sophomores, nearly equally male and female (52' male, 48' female). 75' of the students live on campus in seven residence halls. Expectations for food quality and variety and catering are very high in this community. The Ideal Candidate will have: * Previous success managing in a Campus Resident Dining account with demonstrated best practices in increasing the student experience. * Hands-on management approach, comfortable communication style and strong team building skills as the successful candidate will interact with students, staff, faculty, client, and hourly student employees. * Successful experience partnering with a client in involvement / commitment to the campus and surrounding community. * Proven Leadership, Computer Skills, and Food/Beverage Cost controls are key skills that must be mastered to be successful as a GM with Sodexo. * Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence to work successfully with diverse clients, students and employees at multiple venues. * Culinary background and understanding and strong catering experience. ** Relocation assistance IS available with this position! ** For more information about SMC please visit Position Summary Directs all contract management service operations at a single account/unit. Plans and supervises special functions. Maintains cash control and payroll records. Hires and trains unit personnel. Maintains customer satisfaction and good public relations. Manages through managers and is accountable for the contract. Senior-most person assigned to a one client account.
