SUMMARY: Responsible for overseeing all aspects of the operations of The Sebastian Vail in accordance with the Owners objectives and Timbers Resorts mission statement, with an emphasis on; maximizing the financial performance of the property, maintaining high guest satisfaction scores, and overall staff development to deliver the established quality standards of The Sebastian Vail. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Essential functions as defined are ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY and not a comprehensive listing of all functions and duties performed by incumbents within this classification. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: Works closely with the Owner and Timbers Resorts to determine appropriate organizational strategies, goals and objectives for the property, including the creation of forward looking 5 year financial plan on an annual basis; evaluates and advises on the impact of long-range planning and introduction of new programs/strategies. Directs the development of the annual budget that conforms with the 5 year financial plan and the identification of key performance indictors that will be utilized on a weekly, monthly and annual basis to evaluate the performance against plan. Develops accurate long and short-range financial objectives consistent with overall goals, strategies and objective of property. Directs the timely and accurate preparation and completion of all financial reports for ownership and management that clearly explains operational effectiveness, trends and variances. Establishes controls to ensure the proper handling and accounting for all resort receipts. Monitors the financial performance of the resort through verification and analysis of daily financial reports; initiates timely corrective action as required. Executes weekly forecasting and planning of operating staffing and cost expenditures to correspond to forecasted sales and costs. Assist with planning and execution of marketing, sales, and operational activities, producing results that meet or exceed the resorts business plan. Supervises the performance of all operating departments including, but not limited to: Reservations, Front Office, Guest Services, Housekeeping, Spa, Food & Beverage, and Maintenance to insure the highest possible levels of guest satisfaction in a cost efficient manner. Develops, directs and reviews the implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures and work standards for the resort and key staff. Oversees the selection, training, professional development and discipline of direct reports; takes appropriate and timely corrective action when necessary. Directs the execution of analytical studies related to the performance of the property; develops and reviews reports of findings, alternatives and recommendations. Ensures that the resorts service and quality standards are communicated, understood, achieved and maintained by resort staff creating an operating environment that assures consistent guest satisfaction. Maintains product and service quality standards by conducting ongoing evaluations and investigating complaints/issues; ensures appropriate corrective action. Develop action plans to maximize occupancy and to maximize average rate. Establishes and maintains applicable preventive maintenance programs that protect and enhance the value of all resort assets in maintenance, security, housekeeping and through the capital budgeting process. Establishes and maintains a pro-active human resource function to ensure employee motivation, training and development, wage and benefits administration, and compliance with established labor regulations. Maintains an appropriate level of community public affairs involvement. Ensures adherence to safety and security practices for the protection of staff and guests. Maintains currency on government regulations affecting resorts operations, ensuring that the resort is operated in compliance with all applicable laws, ordinances, regulations, and requirements of any federal, state or municipal authority. Interacts with the general public, customers, owners, employees, government officials with tact and courtesy and in a manner that promotes a harmonious and effective workplace environment.
