JOB DUTIES:

Provide pre-conceptional, prenatal and postnatal genetic counseling services to patients and their families. Coordinate genetic testing services at any of the locations of the UCLA OBGYN Faculty and Midwifery Practice (referred as \\"Practice\\") and the UCLA Perinatal Diagnostic Center satellite offices. Participate in educational programs and special projects as directed by the Medical Director of the Practice.



JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Required: Experience in prenatal genetic counseling. Genetic counselor certified by the American Board of Genetic Counseling, with In Good Standing status. Knowledge of current prenatal diagnostic and screening test options. Skills and knowledge necessary to utilize the State of California Screening Information System (SIS). Ability to clearly communicate medical information to patients and physicians. Ability to collaborate with medical personnel at various departmental levels. Knowledge of the State of California Health Department prenatal screening protocols and follow-up procedures. Working knowledge of IBM compatible PC, Microsoft Word, SPSS and Excel programs. Ability to promptly record consultation notes and all other patient-related communications in computerized charting system (EPIC). Ability to educate, train and supervise genetic counseling interns. Ability to work at multiple geographical sites weekly. Valid California Driver License, automobile and personal auto insurance for travel between offices. Ability to promptly submit requests for laboratory and other tests or referrals to other consultants using CareConnect and other systems.
