JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Genetic Counselor works with the Genetic Counseling Services team and in collaboration with the physicians of the Norton Cancer Institute to evaluate patients for hereditary cancer syndromes and provide comprehensive genetic counseling to these patients. The Genetic Counselor participates in all aspects of the Genetic Counseling Services including patient care, research, community outreach, and education. The Genetic Counselor is an important part of the genetic counseling team and provides regular input and ideas for programmatic and personal growth and development.

REQUIRED:

* Masters degree from an American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) accredited genetic counseling program

* Board eligible (ABGC)

* Satisfactory completion of clinical rotations required for a Masters degree

* Microsoft Office

DESIRED:

* Same

* Board certified (ABGC)

* Previous experience with cancer genetic counseling

* Progeny, CancerGene, electronic medical record experience
