Geriatrics Palliative Care CRNP

This is a unique Full-Time Geriatrics Nurse Practitioner opportunity with Pocono Medical Center. The ideal NP will have an interest in Palliative Care as part of starting a new program for inpatient and outpatient palliative care services. This position will be overseen by an Internal Medicine physician and Medical Director who is certified in Palliative Care. Pocono Medical Center is located in the beautiful, scenic Pocono Mountains just off Interstate 80, only 75 miles from Manhattan and 90 minutes from Philadelphia. The hospital was rated in the top 5% nationwide for quality and clinical excellence in regard to patient mortality and complication rates by HealthGrades and is rapidly expanding and transitioning from a community hospital to a regional medical center. As one of the top 3 busiest ERs in the state, PMC sees 90,000 patients annually in the Mattioli Emergency Center and has additionally expanded by adding a new 4-story wing to the hospital in 2006 with a focus on Open Heart Surgery and a new 60,000 square foot Cancer Center for Oncology and Womens Services which will open as early as Spring 2012. Pocono Mountain Healthcare will offer a brand new office space with eighteen exam rooms and close proximity to internal medicine and immediate care. Because PMC reaches out to a large community of 170,000 people, we are opening several Immediate Care Centers over the next year and developing a medical home model approach to care.
