Position Summary:Focused on optimizing the user experience, this position directs the overall site user experience for all company websites and the intranet globally in support of Parkers Win Strategy. Provides brand, information analysis, structure and content direction for new sites, site redesigns, site translations, etc. Develops understanding of business and corporate strategies and how those strategies can be supported through the online user experience. Oversees on-line presence; develops and implements policies, processes and standards to improve the user experience of the companys online presence. Scope/Supervision and Interaction:This position works in a team oriented, collaborative environment. Interacts with divisions, groups and regions at all levels of the organization. Works in a team environment with both on site and virtualized team members. Works closely with Marketing and Corporate Communications Departments. While this position does not have direct reports, it leads, through influence, location specialists responsible for publishing/editorial and search and content ideas.____ Has Direct Reports _X__ Does Not Have Direct ReportsEssential Functions:Identifies emerging or best practice directions for adapting online user experience to meet evolving business area requirements. Develops and applies standards for Internet design, navigation and technical functionality.Manages large, complex web initiatives involving large amounts of information and coordination of internal and external users (e.g. sellers, servicers, investors, shareholders, news media, researchers, general public and employees). - Develops wireframes (high fidelity as needed) that incorporate content and functional best practices.- Takes approved wireframes through the entire design process to produce layered .psd files.- Works directly with the development team on the coding of the layered .psd files to produce web pages.Coordinates design standards on projects to be implemented on the companys internal (intranet) or external (Internet) sites. Establishes and assures adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements.Manages teams and consultants, as necessary, to develop site designs and enhancements that focus on optimizing the user experience. Analyzes current customer and site user behavior and identifies significant changes. Tracks behavioral changes, conducts tracking analysis and prepares detailed analytics reports to identify impacts.Espouses need for consistent web experience, including presentation of content, to support the corporate brand and reputation. Provides usability guidance as part of branding discussions with application teams, and works with content owners to ensure that content is developed/presented according to usability best practices. Determines effectiveness of visual design, information architecture, navigation and other elements of the online experience. Recruits testers as needed from internal volunteers or external customers supplied by business areas or other external site users. Schedules and leads the tests, and analyzes and prepares findings and recommendations. Monitors and analyzes user behavior on the companys websites, recommending optimization of online channels to meet business goals while improving the user experience. By combining the usability discipline with a deep understanding of web analytics, identifies ongoing trends and emerging issues on each of the sites and suggests improvements that would benefit users.Designs and conducts user interviews, task analyses, focus groups or surveys, as appropriate, to test the organization and usability of web sites and online applications. Analyzes current customer and site user behavior and identifies significant changes. Analyzes user response patterns and commentary; develops reports and recommendations for site managers, content owners and senior management to drive ongoing improvements in response to evolving user concerns. Based on deep familiarity with industry best practices and business-to-business or business-to-consumer web standards, conducts heuristic reviews using industry scorecards. Prepares detailed recommendations for improvements. Serves as liaison to technical teams and business area staff throughout the company who need web usability input or best practice advice in designing or retooling online applications. Works closely with implementation teams to ensure that new web designs adhere to usability best practices. Serves as advisor to developers and communications staff who need advice or clarification regarding best practices and user experience standards.Qualifications:Bachelor degree in Design, Communications, Computer Science required. Eight to ten years of digital design experience including taking wireframes all the way through a finished design deliverable, in-depth knowledge of web-based usability and the analysis of online behavior, experience with e-commerce, online customer experience and design and a strong grounding in best practices for effective online business strategies. Experience with web content management and an understanding of web technology capabilities also required. Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JAVA, JavaScript, GIF animation, browsers and GUI design-related applications. Demonstrated experience in successfully implementing large-scale customer experience initiatives within enterprise web programs including meeting deadlines, budgets and quality measures. Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to articulate approach and establish position for content direction.
