A multinational medical technology organization is launching first-in-class treatments for the cardiovascular market and needs a Group Marketing Manager to plan and execute a series of global product launches. This profitable Device company is projected to double in size over the next five years, driven by the commercialization of innovative products used in interventional cardiology procedures. They need a commercial team leader to manage a group of downstream marketing professionals responsible for developing and executing global strategies. The Group Marketing Manager will lead a global marketing team responsible for launch planning and execution on a global basis. You will be working with state of the art technology for interventional cardiovascular procedures. The unique product line offers different clinical options for the treatment of coronary and peripheral vascular disease, so the strategic challenge is to expand physician, payer and patient awareness of the benefits of this innovative therapy. This is classic market development activity rather than share-shift, and your team will be asked to identify barriers to product adoption and then develop innovative strategies to overcome them.
Specific duties include market segmentation, product positioning, pricing, forecasting and budgeting. You will help create sales training programs, and develop relationships with Key Opinion Leaders in the cardiovascular community, developing them as advocates for this novel technology. Your team will work closely with Country Managers in different regions around the world to take the global launch strategies and adapt them for the unique needs in each regional marketplace. The high growth rate of the company means there are significant opportunities for career development and advancement. Overnight travel is estimated at 25%.
* 8+ years of Medical Device industry experience
* 5+ years of upstream and downstream marketing experience in the Medical Device or Medical Equipment business and successful product launch experience; cardiology market experience is preferred but not required
* 2+ years of supervisory experience of marketing personnel
* Bachelor's degree or better is required, as is an MBA or other equivalent advanced degree
* Strong leadership skills and the ability to help set a vision for the future of the marketing organization
