Position Description

Lenovo's Global Industry Development Manager (IDM) will combine Business Intelligence, Solutions Development, Marketing and Sales to fully develop our Global accounts base within the Pharmaceutical Vertical. The IDM will leverage opportunities across both Global and Commercial Segments to build scale, maximize the investment and educate sale makers. They will play a critical role in building and advising on Lenovo technology that will help our clients meet their business goals. The IDM will:

Define Lenovo's Point of View (POV) in the various Industries

- What does Lenovo want to be known for in the various industries

- Long term...when you think of the Pharmaceutical vertical's solution provider, you think of Lenovo first.

Act as Subject Matter Expert on where the industry is headed

- Seat License to the various industry analyst (Gartner/IDC/Forrester) and Forums to anticipate trends

- Join User Communities to help develop and define our solutions

Support Solutions Development

- Tie into the Product Group to help define requirements

- Identify gaps in our portfolio & score/prioritize the level of importance

- Solutions are not just hardware...but, Use Cases and Workloads with the hardware that are advertised and broadcasted

Recommend ISV support

- Which industry specific ISVs should we develop a relationship with

- Develop Reference Architecture and Workloads to be certified on Lenovo gear

- Develop relationship with the sales leadership of the ISV to promote the relationship

- Develop a 'Go to Market' strategy around the solutions along with the ISV

Communicate to the Public

- Social Media and Blogs

- Define Industry events to participate in

- Market solutions on Lenovo.com

- Communicate to Analyst Community

- Review solutions with publications and Gartner/Forester/IDC

- Utilize the seat license for the various Analyst to promote what Lenovo is doing in the Vertical Industry

Train Sales Teams

- Help Develop training collateral & curriculum

- Review outside companies to help educate sales teams on Industry

- Use of Sales Force.com Chatter...create a community of account owners that own the Vertical Accounts

- Host 'update calls' with the Account Teams

- Communicate Vertical solutions, partnerships and initiatives

- Communicate Vertical Industry information and trends

- Analyze Competitors

- Keep up with what the competition is doing

Position Requirements

- 7-10 year proven track record in high-tech strategic sales and marketing to Global Accounts in the Pharmaceutical Vertical required

- Successful track record of solution selling to C-level executives at Fortune 500 companies required

- Server, Services & PC industry experience preferred

- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills

- Ability to manage multiple complex sales engagements

- Strong financial, operational and business development acumen

- Track record of providing professional learning; including presenting at conferences

- Ability to effectively educate stakeholders about the designated industry and knowledge of current research

- Willingness to travel. Position will be home-office based.

- Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a positive attitude under tight deadlines

- Visionary leader in the designated vertical that understands current trends and can predict future trends and with current industry affiliations & relationships

- Ability to facilitate learning for internal Lenovo teams
