Publicly traded, global biotech company

Biotech/pharmaceutical industry experience is preferred


The Director, Tax & Treasury partners with Senior Management to ensure optimal tax decision making, leads tax compliance and research, and manages tax requirements for independent and regulatory auditors.

The incumbent will also manage the company's cash requirements including cash forecasting, safeguarding company assets, and managing the company's currency risks.


* Establishes the tax & treasury functions, including a vision of the groups' long-term strategy and goals, and evaluate future organizational design and structure in support of business growth.
* Partners with senior leadership to ensure optimal tax decision making, manage tax advisor relationship and tax planning and research.
* Optimizes internal processes to simplify tax compliance and reporting efforts.
* Responsible for preparation and documentation of financial statement tax processes including tax provisions.
* Reviews tax returns and manage filings for federal, state, local, property, excise, sales and use and VATtaxes, ensuring they are accurate, timely filed and appropriately documented.
* Directs work with outside tax, legal and accounting advisors on domestic and international tax compliance and planning projects ensuring advisors are held accountable for delivering expected results within contracted fee arrangements
* Formulates cash management, investment and otherfinancial policies for the organization.
* Develops and monitor treasury operational policies.
* Organizes and ensures SOX404 documentation reflects current practices and procedures for tax & treasury processes.
* Other ad hoc analysis / projects as deemed appropriate.


* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
* CPArequired and Masters in Taxation preferred.
* 8+ years of progressive taxexperience with a large multinational corporate tax department or with a Big 4 Accounting firm handling complex federal, state and international tax issues and analysis.
* SEC taxreporting, ASC 740, ASC 718 and international taxexperience is preferred.
* Global, commercial biotechnology / pharmaceutical industry experience is required.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong skill set regarding presentation design, development, and delivery.
* Proven leadership skills and abilities as demonstrated by progressively increasing management experience and responsibilities.
* Treasury experience is NOT required for this role.
