Position Purpose: The Golf Retail Merchandiser at The Club at Carlton Woods will be responsible for the management and procurement of all merchandise programs for the golf club, The Club at Carlton Woods pro shop, and Corporate Gifting. Develops effective merchandise plans that meet member, guest, and client needs while meeting company goals and financial objectives. The Golf Retail Merchandiser collaborates with Event Planners, Corporate Hosts and other stakeholders to coordinate gifting fulfillment for all corporate activities and events. Remains current and familiar with industry trends and competitive market analysis. The Golf Retail Merchandiser works closely with the Golf Professionals and leaders. This position is responsible for maintaining Carlton Woods quality and ethical standards set by The Club at Carlton Woods. Job Responsibilities: Oversees merchandise management and merchandise related standard operating procedures including operating procedures for counting inventory and maintaining proper inventory levels for The Club at Carlton Woods Golf Shop. Coordinates corporate and special retail gifting programs including idea generation, sampling, purchasing, personalization, displays and guest distribution. Oversees all Special Order procedures. Collaborates with Golf Professionals and The Club at Carlton Woods leaders in identifying and creating merchandise and marketing strategies, buying plans, and budgets, including annual sales, expense, turnover ratios, and inventory targets and processing invoices. Monitors and manages the availability of stock by ensuring planned launch and replenishment dates are met. Purchases all soft goods and accessories for the golf shop. Manages priorities and workload distribution, and removes barriers that impede progress. Maintains strong business & employee relationships by visiting with vendors, hospitality leaders, event planners, key stakeholders, and members; answering their questions; responding to special requests; describing product features and options. Responsible for all merchandise related reporting. Provides updates to key stakeholders, including monthly and quarterly financials, buying plans, corporate connectivity plan updates, and corporate gifting fulfillment. Enhances merchandising and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. Develops and maintains trusting business relationships with The Club's business units, operation leaders, agents, vendors, and customers promoting the value of hospitality services and products. Assist others on the team as needed to ensure work is completed and high level of customer service is maintained. Travels occasionally in order to participate in special assignments, training, and/or travel between both club locations. Desired Qualifications, Experience, Certification, Education: A minimum of three years of retail experience. Demonstrated customer service focus and proficiency as an effective communicator with outstanding interpersonal skills. This includes ability to interact professionally and courteously with diverse guests, co-workers and vendors. Must be highly organized, able to meet deadlines and have the ability to work effectively with limited day-to-day supervision. Associate degree in merchandising, fashion or related field or commensurate experience. Demonstrated knowledge of forecasting, buying, inventory control/counting, and effective supply chain management. Proven ability to operate computer equipment and software programs, specifically Point of Sale system, property management system and Microsoft Office software (Publisher, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Proven ability to work independently as well as within a team environment. Demonstrated strong organizational skills. Valid driver's license and a driving record that conforms to company standards. Ability to lift 40 lbs. Ability to work long hours, evenings, holidays, and weekends. Ability to remain on feet the majority of the workday. Ability to communicate effectively in a collaborative work environment utilizing various technologies such as: telephone, computer, web, voice, teleconferencing, e-mail, etc. Ability to travel as required.
