Job Description
The mission of Altria Group, Inc. is to own and develop financially disciplined businesses that are leaders in responsibly providing adult tobacco and wine consumers with superior branded products. Altria Group is the parent company of Philip Morris USA, (the largest cigarette manufacturer in the United States), as well as U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Company and John Middleton - recently acquired companies that offer leading brands in the growing moist smokeless tobacco and machine-made cigar categories. Altria Client Services' role is to provide high quality services to the Altria family of companies. We are currently seeking a highly qualified graduate summer intern to join our Marketing department in Richmond, VA. Our graduate summer intern program provides students the opportunity to participate in our 10-12 week comprehensive intern program that includes on-the-job training, access to mentors, planned social events, and educational opportunities. Students may be given the opportunity to work on a cross functional project team utilizing project management skills to execute multiple project tasks simultaneously. Students will document project work in a formal report and/or presentation at the conclusion of the program. As a Market Information & Consumer Research graduate summer intern with Altria Client Services, the student will be assigned to a specific area within our Marketing department for purposes of learning, assessment and ultimate contribution. Projects may include: * Designing, executing and interpreting primary and/or secondary research analyses on key strategic business issues * Developing conclusions and implications to aid decision-making and presenting findings to key clients, including Brand Management, Sales and Senior ManagementTo qualify for the graduate summer intern program, the student must be in good academic standing at his/her university and completed the first year of an MBA or MS program, at the time of the internship. Specifically, we are looking for graduate students working towards a MBA or MS degree in Marketing, Marketing Research, Economics, or Finance with at least 3 years of relevant work experience preferred. A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 is strongly preferred. We are looking for graduate students who possess the following: * Strong statistical and data analysis skills (cross tabulation, significance testing) * Well-developed project management skills * Demonstrated vendor management skills * Strong organizational skills and attention to detail * Strong interpersonal skills and excellent oral and written communication skills * Leadership qualities to engender the cooperation, respect and support of other team members * Sound, independent reasoning and judgment to establish work priorities, handle questions and be flexible to respond to constantly changing priorities and shifting deadlines Candidates must pass a drug-screen and background check prior to employment. Pay for an intern position is commensurate based on the student's academic level in school and experience. A Housing Allowance is available for students who qualify.
