JOB DESCRIPTIONJOB SUMMARY
A graduate research assistant position is available in the area of consumer health technology at University of Kentucky Division of Biomedical Informatics. The successful candidate will work with Dr. Sujin Kim on the development and implications of consumer health technology, systems engineering, and machine learning algorithms focusing on problems from biomedical informatics. These researches are intended to lead to both publications in high-quality peer reviewed journals as well as successful grant submissions. The initial appointment will be for 12 months. Depending on the performance and funding availabilities, an extension may be considered for up to six more months.
The Division of Biomedical Informatics is a unique department with a multidisciplinary faculty positioned for opportunities for interdisciplinary cross-talk and collaboration. The Biomedical Informatics Division/environment is currently housed within the Department of Internal Medicine/College of Medicine and is embarking on a period of major expansion within the University. Opportunities for collaborative endeavors with many and varied units within the University of Kentucky will result from this focus. The University is committed to the development of biomedical informatics and has made this area a priority. Efforts focused on the Biomedical Informatics expansion will create direction for the academic entity and stimulate research across the campus, building relationships and infrastructure for the success of this program. Paid tuition and a reasonable stipend are provided with this position.
