Graphic Arts Project Manager
The Project Manager (PM) provides support to the customer and SGS account management team and coordinates projects through production.
*Works closely with the Senior Account Director in producing materials, planning and executing projects to fulfill client expectations.
*Reviews all incoming jobs and obtains job specifications from the Senior Account Director, client or printer.
*Schedules planning meetings with production when necessary.
*Provides creative, constructive ideas and suggestions pertaining to incoming work and offers alternative ways of producing jobs for quality and cost effectiveness.
*Determines schedule according to customer needs.
*Produces job ticket with detailed instructions for production and enters job into the schedule within one half day of receiving required materials.
*Recommends scheduling commitments and estimates amount of time needed in each department.
*Prepares material for production.
*Informs Senior Account Director if actual production of job deviates from original plan causing additional costs (i.e. additional system work, unforeseen production problems, etc.).
*Contacts Senior Account Director or customer when a problem arises that will affect delivery of order.
*Handles calls from customers regarding status of work in progress.
*Assists customers that come into the plant during a Senior Account Director s absence.
*Assist Senior Account Director when billing questions arise.
Education & Experience Requirements:
*Minimum of a two-year degree or equivalent experience in the graphic arts industry.
*Minimum of two years project management experience in the prepress industry and have experience working directly with clients, buyers, printers, etc.
*Good communication skills to serve as an effective liaison between sales, production and customers.
*Logical and conceptual thinking skills to correlate job specifications.
*A working understanding of computers and computer software (Adobe Creative Suite, Excel, Word, etc.).
*Strong problem solving and decision making skills.
