This is a continuous recruitment. Candidates will be chosen on an as needed basis. As Instructors are needed to fill positions, candidates will be pulled from this pool. Applications will be kept on file for a minimum of 12 months.

UC Merced Campus Recreation is charged with providing a dynamic recreational and fitness experience for students, staff, and faculty as well as guests and special programs affiliated with the campus. The Group Fitness Instructor supports this mission through leading group exercise classes.
The Group Fitness Instructor must have a very clear understanding of the following areas of emphasis: customer service, communications skills, group fitness techniques and trends.
This position reports directly to the Director of Campus Recreation.
This posting will remain open for six months; it will then be closed and reopened under a new position number. Once a position has been closed, you will need to re-apply to each new position to continue to be considered.
Review of applications will occur as openings are available. This is a temporary employment pool for Group Fitness Intructors. This position is reopened every six months so please re-apply if you remain interested in the position. This position will close on June 30, 2015.
*Demonstrated experience conducting group fitness and exercise classes.
*One year experience as a group fitness instructor.
*Knolwedge of basic safety and risk management practices as they relate to group fitness and personal training instruction.
*Skill to interact courteously and communicate clearly with diverse groups.
