Job Description: We are looking for an experienced proven Group Rooms Sales Manager, that is highly motivated, to join our talented sales and catering team to build group room revenue. The primary goal of this position is to ensure that budgeted revenues are achieved or exceeded, through group room night revenue, by nurturing, soliciting, developing and booking new and existing clients. This position will sell on behalf of the hotel to penetrate the various group room market segments including but not limited to; Association and SMERF. The position requires total account management to achieve weekly sales booking goals and actualized room nights. The group rooms sales manager will be responsible for working directly with established group room accounts to develop room revenue for the hotel, aggressively solicit new accounts, and nurture and capture incremental room nights from established accounts. The ideal candidate must possess the following attributes; excellent communication skills, establish goodwill and a connection with clients in person and over the phone, high initiative as a self starter, superior organizational skills, and must be driven. Key Responsibilities/Expectations: Knowledge of the competition and our core competencies Develop and maintain prioritized prospecting and maintenance of all accounts through the use of Sales Pro Meet or exceed; daily solicitation call quotas, weekly booking goals, and yearly group room revenue goals Have a sound understanding of effective sales strategies for respective market segment Nurture and build incremental business from existing accounts Canvas, prospect, solicit and capture new accounts Convert new accounts into loyal clients Negotiate rates and build contracts Develop, execute, and update an action plan against existing and new accounts to achieve and exceed sales quotas within the assigned market segment Document and provide reports for weekly solicitation calls and bookings Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Display the ability to maintain and strengthen relationships with external and internal clients in line with brand expectations through appearance, manners, language and interactions. Strong organizational and follow-through skills.Ability to plan, set and achieve goals on a continual basis, demonstrating superior organizational and time management skills. Have an understanding of revenue goals for the hotel.
