The Inpatient Group Therapist provides assessment,
diagnosis, treatment planning, delivery and
documentation of group psychotherapy, facilitation of
behavioral changes to meet the needs of assigned
patients (ages 4-17). Provides clinical guidance and
education to direct care workers. Provides patient
specific treatment, adheres to patient safety standards,
assures patient rights, prevenst/identifies/reports
abuse, and oversees quality of individualized
therapeutic interventions. Achieves positive,
sustainable outcomes with youth presenting serious
clinical problems. May cover IT and FT for additional
patients as needed or assigned. Requirements:
Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities:
Therapeutic interviewing methods and techniques;
principles and practices related to assessment
instruments; the principles and practices of clinical
diagnostic activities and various modalities of
psychotherapy, counseling, and abnormal psychology;
crisis intervention techniques; and federal, state and
local ordinances and policies regarding therapeutic
Word processing and basic programs; drafting
individualized treatment plans. Accurately conveys
patient behavior and status verbally and in writing.
Effective professional verbal and written skills for
communicating patient status, and treatment needs to
clients, families, professionals, and employees of the
facility. Able to verbally adapt spoken communication to
meet needs of patient. Maintain confidentiality.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret professional
journals, reports and legal documents. Ability to
respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients,
care providers or regulatory agencies. Ability to define
problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid

contacted in the course of work activities. Able to

Masters Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and
Family Therapy, Professional Counseling.
Current Oklahoma licensure (LMSW, LCSW, LMFT, LBP,
LPC), eligible for licensure (under supervision); or
licensed psychologist.
Current Oklahoma Driver s License (Required for staff
on Driver s List)
Prefer two years work experience in a psychiatric
treatment setting with children and/or adolescents.

to 35 pounds using appropriate body mechanics. Able to
push patients in wheel chairs up and down hills and
pursue running patients. Hearing, vision, sensory, and
emotional stability sufficient to perform essential job
functions. Able to deal with stressful situations and
changing priorities. Works for sustained periods of time
maintaining concentrated attention to detail. Access to
reliable transportation; maintains reliable attendance
record and arrives in a timely manner.
