Job Description
Health IT Services Group (HITSG) a wholly owned, subsidiary of Fresenius Medical Care North America has an immediate opening for a full time Lead Interface Developer. The Lead Interface Developer role will be based in either our Durham, NC or Danville, VA office supporting our Acumen Electronic Health Recordsproduct. HITSG's Acumen EHR is a web-based application for physician practices that allows nephrologists and their staffs to access patient data via the internet while remaining HIPAA compliant for privacy. Research, organize and develop innovative approaches to interface and HIE problems and opportunities. Review integration project requests, coordinate schedules, related department activities and resource requirements. Work with other stakeholders to assess and determine business priorities. Review, recommend and justify the selection of new products and services. Provide overall direction and guidance to staff in the design, development and maintenance of relevant products, programs and services. Develop long range plans to provide appropriate use of technology in support of interface and HIE initiatives. Understand and internalize the project mission and associated company objectives for the effort. Provide expert knowledge and responsibility for designing, developing, testing and maintaining interfaces using the Mirth Connect or similar interface engine and all related inter-system data transmissions. Creative participation from design specification and analysis through interface development, initial and volume testing, production moves and post-production support. Own and resolve complex and/or critical integration issues. Reviews work performed by others and provides recommendations for improvement. Anticipates customer needs and proactively develops solutions to meet them. Plan and organize extensive work efforts; build and maintain project plans. Prioritizes and organizes own work to meet deadlines. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum 8 years of professional experience in the health care IT industry with a proven track record in hands-on management of complex IT projects and leadership of technical staff. 3-5 years relevant experience with healthcare data integration standards and tools. Experience with an electronic medical record is desirable. Hands-on experience with integration tools such as Mirth Connect, eGate, Informatica and/or Data Integrator. Experience in building/supporting XML centric (HL7) information exchange integration ecosystem. Experience with application development and software development life cycle methodologies. Good working knowledge of common Integration topologies (Hub and Spoke, Network, Bus and Service Oriented). Excellent knowledge of building/supporting high performance Web Services driven data exchange and delivery services. Excellent analytical, problem solving, communication and writing skills. Proven management and business skills. Proven knowledge of data mapping and conversion tools, processes and practices. Must be able to read and comprehend complex technical documents. Must be able to work extended hours as needed and limited overnight travel will be required as needed.
