We are a "back office," PeopleSoft support team within a fast paced and very customer service centric environment. Although we have little to no face to face contact with our numerous HR client groups within Stanford's community, if you are happy fulfilling HR teams' transaction requests, come join our team of HR transaction processing experts.

The HR Transaction Services (HRTS) team was created more than three years ago to consolidate the processing of HR transactions through a highly trained central team that supports school and business units all across Stanford University.

HRTS serves Stanford to:

Increase the efficiency and accuracy of transaction processing

Relieve administrative burden for those who rarely use HR systems

Share best practices across Stanford's distributed HR functions

Safeguard the reliability of Stanford's electronic data records

In this role you will be trained by top HR systems experts on all facets of job, salary, and employee data transactions as well as background checks. You will use PeopleSoft, Taleo applicant tracking system, Microsoft Office and other applications to input and upload job and personal information changes to Stanford's HR systems.

The incumbent must fully understand and complete high volume transaction work with the highest degree of accuracy. As an employee within a center of expertise on transactions, the incumbent will also tactfully and assertively spread best practice forms and processes across the wide Stanford HR community. This role works in partnership with local HR Management and central University HR office staff. S/he will ensure timely and accurate processing of job changes, job postings, hires, terminations, position changes, salary changes and more.

We especially seek candidates who can help to identify opportunities to improve processes to gain administrative efficiency and accuracy. It will be a big plus if you can demonstrate past success in refining work processes, or setting up desk/file organizing approaches.

Job Purpose:

Enter data from a source document into a computer system and verify entries for accuracy and completeness. Assist with gathering and measuring data. Work is usually performed independently within general guidelines.

Core Duties*:

Accurately enter data from data sheets or charts into a database and/or manual filing system using specific, standard instructions.

Monitor and execute transactions from a shared email folder

Determine appropriate action to be taken for duplicate, inaccurate, or unclear information.

Maintain computerized and manual logs and files in accordance with established procedures.

Selectively apply a variety of procedures in measuring data, using judgment to determine how standard guidelines apply; may calibrate and use a variety of display, measuring, and/or calculating equipment requiring a few adjustments for proper results.

Assist with data collection when needed.

Maintain a variety of complex records; suggest or make improvements to record-keeping procedures.

Perform audits of own work or that of others to ensure conformance with established procedures.

Provide administrative support.

Education & Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or equivalent and two years of relevant experience or a combination of education and relevant experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

At least two years of experience using human resource applications (ex. PeopleSoft, WorkDay, or any other HR/Payroll system)

Strong attention to detail with the ability to analyze incoming data/requests for accuracy

Complex problem-solving skills and good judgment in making decisions. This includes the ability to make independent decisions.

Collaborative team player, able to work effectively on multiple assignments in a team environment

Demonstrated ability to prioritize work under rapidly changing conditions

Ability to recognize, handle, and protect sensitive/confidential information

Strong clerical, interpersonal, and basic organizational skills.

Great acuity with Microsoft Office applications

Physical Requirements*:

Sitting in place at computer for long periods of time with extensive keyboarding/dexterity.

Occasionally use a telephone.

Rarely writing by hand.
