The HVAC/ Refrigeration tech is responsible for the installation and maintenance of major Hospital and Medical Campus equipment. Works throughout the Medical Center and outlying Properties, which may include limited access areas including medication rooms. Responds to routine and emergency work orders. Performs preventative maintenance on assigned equipment. Participates in new project installations. Completes all required documentation according to department procedures. Meets established response time for work orders and stat calls, and performs Preventative Maintenance Program within scheduled timeframe. Other duties may require light duty maintenance, light moving, and new product installation.
Must have excellent problem solving and trouble shooting skills and high initiative with little supervisory guidance.
Must demonstrate good time management skills, and work well within a team environment. Must be able to read and interpret blue prints and electrical schematics. Must be able to act independently and make judgments regarding service and repair of equipment in a safe appropriate manner. Primarily a standard work week position with holiday and occasional night/ weekend rotation. Expected to respond to emergency call in (Equipment Failure, Floods and Snow Removal etc). On call rotation when required.
Required:
- Graduate of a state certified apprenticeship program
- EPA Core Type I & II., Five years. Proper use of hand tools and metering devices
- Basic computer knowledge

Desired:
- Associate Degree in HVAC Technology, Kentucky Journeyman, Ten years
- Proper use of hand tools and metering devices. Advanced computer skills
