Job Description
Job Summary
The Lead Teacher is responsible for all aspects of care and education for a class of approximately 18 children. The Lead Teacher implements Head Start/UPK programming, ensures that developmentally appropriate activities are provided for the children, and creates a safe, educational environment that prepares children for success in school.
Essential Functions
Plan and provide developmentally appropriate activities and experiences
Provide active, fully engaged supervision of the children
Develop and implement lesson plans to facilitate the children s development in multiple areas.
Provide direction support to classroom staff
Ensure that child assessments and screenings are completed
Ensure that classroom is in compliance with all relevant regulations and standards
