The Role
The Head of Web Business Development is responsible for creating strategic third party partnerships that drive incremental revenue, traffic and product capabilities to expand Bloomberg Digital's web presence. The successful candidate has a deep understanding of emerging technology, internet business models and digital media. This role reports to the head of digital revenue operations and oversees a team of two business development managers.
Responsibilities:
-Analyze competitive space; be well versed on the latest products and innovations and how they impact Bloomberg's Web strategy.
-Develop overall strategy for reaching team revenue and traffic goals.
-Develop financial models and forecast performance against yearly targets.
-Create, maintain and grow pipeline of partners.
-Identify, evaluate, structure, negotiate and implement deals.
-Evaluate existing partner landscape with an eye toward optimizing high performance partners and terminating unsuccessful relationships.
-Partner with legal, product, R&D and purchasing teams on partner implementation.
-Evangelize group's goals and progress to broader digital team.
-Motivate and develop team of two business development managers.
Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred
-Strong track record in strategy and business development with at least 10 years relevant experience
-Deep understanding of emerging technology, internet business models and digital media.
-Network of digital media contacts.
-Proven success as a manager.
-Self-motivated, driven, organized, detail-oriented, able to multi-task and excel in a fast-paced environment.
-Must be able to manage cross-functionally across departments.
-Creative thinker
-Excellent written and oral communication skills.
