span An industry leader in insurance and reinsurance is looking for a Head of Accounting to develop the accounting team and bridge the gap in accounting processes.  This person should be efficient with SAP and able to implement accounting systems in order to automate processes.  A strong history with tax and tax reporting is preferred for this position. br   br B Responsibilities: /B br • The Head of Accounting will report to the CFO and be viewed as the CFO when they are not in the office. br • Use internal financial systems in order to automate financial reporting and monitoring br • Financial Reporting, Technical Accounting, Taxation, Investments br • Produce and deliver financial reports with input on management needs based on analysis results br • Support financial audits, both internal and external br • Experience and knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, US Income Tax, and European Commission’s Solvency br • Manage corporate and premium tax returns as well as cooperate with regional tax functions br • Create annual business plan to administer expense budgets, forecasting, and monitor the results br • Lead and spearhead all accounting project needs br • Hold meetings to track development of project growth, employee growth, and accomplishing goals br • Comply and hold staff accountable with company policies and procedures br • Maintain relationships with external vendors such as other insurers/ reinsurers, bank, state regulatory personnel, auditors, industry analysts, and tax authorities br   br B Requirements: /B br • 15 years of financial management experience, Big 4 public accounting, and insurance or financial services experience br • CPA br • Experience with IFRS and GAAP, Statutory and Income Tax bases of accounting and Solvency II. br • Ability to interpret and apply new accounting rules, policies and regulations br • Strong management skills, ability to build a team that accomplishes goals and has effective communication br • Consistent need for achievement, a strong work ethic and a drive to make a difference. br   br   br   br /span
