Job Description
Summary: Plans, designs and executes a broad range of analytic projects related to clinical programs and healthcare experience trends in support of program operations, pricing, sales and provider engagement initiatives. Day-to-day work is a combination of new projects, maintaining or updating existing projects, and standard reporting.
Skills:
Overview: Minimum 2+ years of experience with demonstrated experience in analytical work. An understanding of the health insurance industry, and a combination of strong technical, problem solving and interpersonal skills are required.
Technical: Proficiency in the use of SAS and/or SPSS, Excel, and relational databases such as Access. A solid understanding of SQL is a plus.
Communication/Presentation: Well-developed verbal and written skills. Ability to facilitate planning and review sessions and to present methodology and results within department and to project teams is required.
Independence/Judgment: Receives regular management oversight of selected tasks, projects and processes. Increasingly applies own judgment to analytical/technical issues.
Qualifications (Minimum education & experience level required):
College degree required
Minimum 2+ years experience
A combination of strong technical, problem solving and interpersonal skills
An understanding of the health insurance industry is preferred
Skill requirements (include complexity of position):
Analytic:
Demonstrated experience in analytic work
Technical:
Proficiency in the use of personal computers, relational databases such as MS Access, statistical packages such as SAS or SPSS, MS Excel and database applications. A solid understanding of SQL is a plus.
Communication/Presentation skills:

Able to facilitate planning and review sessions
Able to present methodology and results within department and to project teams
Negotiation/Leadership skills:
Able to operate in a matrix environment
Able to implement Actuarial department standards and processes.
