Health Communications Analyst
Position is on the staff of a private, nonprofit government consulting firm located in McLean, VA. Work is sponsored by Federal Government departments and agencies, including the Department of Health and Human Services. The Affordable Care Act mandates new responsibilities on federal agencies and those agencies in turn require operational, analytical support to carry out their new duties. This position will help provide that support.
PRINICPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful applicant will become part of an analytical team that supports the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation. Support could include a combination of data analysis, policy research, and analytical writing.
The candidate will primarily assist in planning, developing, and implementing strategic communication plans. He/she should understand federal health care programs and be detail oriented, comfortable collaborating with a large team working in multiple locations, and able to oversee a rigorous publication process. Because the successful applicant will produce education and outreach materials for external distribution, he/she should possess superior writing, editing, and organization skills as he/she will be responsible for quality control of all products. The ideal candidate is also a self-starter and problem-solver who can recommend process improvement strategies and identify creative ways to implement best practices.
* Bachelor s degree with 1-3 years of experience
* Health policy, public relations, and/or communications experience
* Demonstrated writing and editing experience
* Strong research and analytical skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
* Superior interpersonal & communication skills, both written and oral
* Ability to multi-task and provide effective customer service
